What’s the best way to start marketing as a start-up owner?

I would say start building a company website, even it’s just a basic one where you show your services and products and tell something about yourself (why did you started your company, what drives you and what are your dreams/goals). This way you can always refer to your website in your emails to potentiel clients or when you talk to them in person. The website is like the window of your business.

The most common and usability friendly Content Management System to build a website is probably WordPress. You start choosing a WordPress theme (search on the internet for WordPress Themes and you will find so many options to choose from). Before you start building your website, look for other appealing websites and use them as a sample to define your menu and how you want to present all the information. Just keep the design clean and simple.

If you want to create a succesful website you have to start setting goals: what is the purpose of your website, who do you want to attract etc? Then you continue drafting the navigation, so it’s simple and user-friendly (within 2 or 3 clicks visitors find the info they are looking for). Of course you need to provide valuable, easy readable content with high quality pictures that you can purchase from a photo stock service (if you are not a good photographer yourself). That’s the start… of course their are many more things to consider like the domain name, host, mobile friendly website etc. Just start at the beginning…. step by step. Take a succesful website as an example.
